Summer Program Leader – 2024

The Position
The Program Leader will work with a small team of volunteers to deliver and
supervise Sunday programs for children ages 4-11.
Using video and related curriculum materials purchased by the Church, the Program
Leader will design weekly Sunday programs during the week, and deliver them on
Sunday mornings.
The Program Leader will also coordinate volunteer schedules and act as liaison for
the volunteer team.
He or she will work with the Youth & Family Outreach Leader and a similar
volunteer team to develop and deliver a summer day camp program for children
during one week.
The Program Leader may also assist with administrative tasks, under the direction
of the Secretary. He or she will provide office coverage when the Secretary is on
vacation.
The Program Leader will meet regularly for faith-formation and coaching with a
Mentor from the congregation.
The Program Leader reports to the Youth Director and the Pastor.
Time Frame
The position of Summer Program Leader requires weekly Sunday program
participation.
The Program Leader will generally work 15 hours per week, with some weeks
requiring more hours. Some work can be done remotely. In-person hours at the
Church are also required during the week and on Sunday mornings.
The position runs from June 17 to September 1.
Qualifications
The successful candidate for the position of Summer Program Leader will:
– Be 17 years of age or older
– Demonstrate a vibrant and mature faith in Jesus
– Be comfortable working with a diverse group of people
– Be comfortable leading programs and activities for children
– Be able to solve challenges dealing with active kids
– Take initiative and work independently, and also be a team player
– Be committed to personal spiritual growth
– Become familiar with Gloucester Church and support its life and ministry
– Complete a vulnerable-sector police check.

The Program Leader will understand and carry out his/her duties in accordance
with the Mission of Gloucester Church:

Other Considerations
Fluency in English and French, experience with children with Special Needs, and an
understanding of ways to engage people through social media are assets.
Stipend/Salary
$16.55 per hour
