Summer Program Assistant – 2022
The Program Assistant will work with the Youth Director and a small team of volunteers to deliver and supervise Sunday programs for children and youth.
He or she will work with a similar team to develop and deliver a summer day camp program for children during one or more weeks.
She or he will post regular updates on the Church’s social media feeds.
The Program Assistant will also handle a variety of administrative tasks, under the direction of the Secretary, including filing, telephone answering, assistance with bulletin preparation, collecting mail, preparing outgoing mail and updating material for files. He or she will provide office coverage when the Secretary is on vacation.
The Program Assistant will meet regularly for faith-formation and coaching with a Mentor from the congregation.
The Program Assistant reports to the Youth Director and the Pastor.
The position of Summer Program Assistant requires weekly Sunday program participation.
The position is for 30 hours per week for a total of 270 hours from May 31 to September 4, with some flexibility. Start-date is negotiable.
The Program Assistant must demonstrate strong organizational skills, leadership qualities, sincere Christian faith, web & social media skills and schedule flexibility. He or she will help deliver Sunday school programs for children, organize occasional mid-week special events, update the Church social media feeds and website, field telephone inquiries and carry out other assigned office duties as described above.
The successful candidate for the position of Program Assistant will:
– Be between 17 and 30 years of age
– Demonstrate a vibrant and mature faith in Jesus
– Be comfortable working with a diverse group of people
– Be comfortable leading programs and activities for children
– Be able to solve challenges dealing with active kids
– Take initiative and work independently, and also be a team player
– Have expertise in social media usage
– Be committed to personal spiritual growth
– Become familiar with Gloucester Church and support its life and ministry
– Complete a vulnerable-sector police check.
The Program Assistant will understand and carry out his/her duties in accordance with the Mission of Gloucester Church:

Preference will be given to a candidate with fluency in English and French and experience with children with Special Needs.
$15.00 per hour
At least 3 references are required, including one from a faith-based mentor.
